Change in the Number of IMGs between 1981 and 2001
This map shows the change in the number of IMGs between 1981 and 2001. The data is aggregated by county. The dark blue areas indicate a large increase in the number of IMGs, light blue areas indicate smaller increases, and red areas indicate decreases; grey areas indicate no change or no IMGs. IMGs continue to find work in large metropolitan areas such as New York, Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles. Counties near San Francisco, Houston, Detroit, Boston, and Washington DC also tend to attract IMGs.
