Curriculum: Flexibility and Breadth

The curriculum is constantly evolving with input from the residents. We aim to improve our training experiences to meet the future needs of our residents and their patients, using the widening circle of resources that become available to us.

Areas of Concentration

 

Residents may choose to devote a portion of their elective time to pursue more advanced, in depth training in an area of family medicine that is of personal interest to them in order to gain additional skills and knowledge for future practice. The program currently offers advanced training in the following areas of concentration, all of which conform to the program guidelines for AOC's written by the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors:

    Family Medicine procedures, including OB ultrasound, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colposcopy, are an integral part of the curriculum.
Residents who value the balance between work and play and faculty who support this balance.
 
Residents may declare an Area of Concentration in a field of particular interest to them such as Sports Medicine
