The Swedish Family
Medicine Residency Program Cherry Hill trains physicians to provide the highest
quality care to underserved patients in an environment of clinical excellence,
ethnic diversity, cultural sensitivity and lifelong learning.
Program Highlights:

Received the maximum amount of accreditation (5 years!) from the Residency
Review Committee.

Community-based hospital with 3 continuity
clinic training sites serves a diverse mix of urban underserved patients.
All three training clinics accept uninsured patients – no one turned away
for the inability to pay.

hospitalized patients of all 3 sites and benefits from evidence-based
teaching delivered by Family Medicine attendings from all 3 sites.

Family Medicine training provides teaching in Adult Medicine, Pediatrics,
OB, Pharmacology, Social Work.

Medicine, Legislative Advocacy, International Medicine, Maternal-Child
Health, Sports Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Rural Medicine, and Women’s

curriculum in Community Medicine that gives residents guided hands-on
experience in research or community capacity building.

Addiction Medicine and Chronic Pain
Management curriculum, supervised by 3 addiction medicine certified faculty
members.

Robust OB curriculum, including training in
high-risk antepartum and C-section assist supported by ready back-up of OB
Fellows.

Family Medicine OB Fellowship offers R4 year
leading to competence in primary C-section.

Procedure training, including colposcopy,
LEEP, ultrasound, no-scalpel vasectomy, flex sigmoidoscopy, biopsies, and
other outpatient procedures.

Abortion training is a part of the core
gynecology curriculum and additional elective rotations are available
- Nationally renowned
Behavioral Medicine training with a month-long intensive rotation in the
second year, 2-week rotation in the 3rd year, weekly Balint
Groups led by a prominent UW Psychiatrist and Family Medicine Physician,
weekly lectures, and a month-long patient-interviewing skills rotation.
