Program Information Excellence,
Diversity, Leadership Excellence: We draw upon the skills of our core faculty as well as a vast array of community resources to provide the highest quality Family Medicine training to be found anywhere. Residents and Faculty of the program routinely examine and adjust our curriculum to respond to the changing needs of the Family Physician of the future. In an industry that is known for its tumultuous times, we pride ourselves on our proven track record of being able to adapt, to respond, and to evolve. Diversity: The diversity in our faculty, resident, staff and patient populations is one reason our graduates leave our program prepared to succeed in any practice environment: from the remotest Indian Health Site in the New Mexico dessert to the United States Federal Health Policy office in Washington, DC, to the quiet suburban private practice north of Bellevue, Washington. We actively encourage diversity of people, of opinions and of curricular content. Leadership: From the moment our interns set foot on campus, we begin empowering them to take charge of the future: their future as well as the future of our program. Wherever our graduates end up, they take with them the tools to be leaders in the field of Family Medicine, and they leave us a legacy of new programs, new goals and fresh ways of looking at ourselves. The Family Medicine Inpatient Service, the Addiction Medicine curriculum, and even the structure of this website are just a few of the footprints left behind by some of the best minds working in Family Medicine today. Community: Residency is about more than training; it is about building relationships and creating shared histories and dreams. It is about community. We believe in fostering a sense of community through time and space. With a network of over 200 graduates practicing in diverse settings all over the world, our program offers a way to build bridges that span the gap between fresh new visionaries and experienced leaders. We invite you to be a part of our community for a day, for a rotation, or for a lifetime. Just imagine how small the world can become! |
