Cherry Hill Training Site

Swedish Family Medicine Cherry Hill is an innovative family healthcare center with the mission of providing quality care to indigent patients. A hospital-based primary care center, it was first established in 1974, with a clientele consisting mostly of the urban poor of central Seattle. Swedish Family Medicine is part of Swedish Medical Center – the largest, most comprehensive health-care system in the Pacific Northwest. The clinic serves patients from all over Seattle, as well as from adjoining counties.

Each year, the clinic sees more than 20,000 patients. Forty percent of all visits are for patients with Medicaid, and 12 percent have Medicare. Each year the clinic provides nearly $200,000 worth of charity care and community outreach programs.

The focus of Swedish Family Medicine Clinic Cherry Hill is to train family physicians to provide care within an environment that is diverse and cross-cultural. Residents will expect to see a large number of patients from minority and immigrant families. The clinic uses an interdisciplinary team model to deliver continuous and comprehensive personal health-care services, including obstetrics, to patients within the structure of their families and communities.

The Cherry Hill training site accepts six residents in each year of training. The NRMP Match number 1755120C3 must be used when ranking this site.
