Allie was born and
raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She left the Southwest to study human
biology and anthropology at Stanford University, but returned to the
University of New Mexico for medical school. She believes that the
treatment of the root causes of illness and preservation of long term
health are best achieved when the patient plays an active and central
role and care is delivered in a culturally sensitive, holistic and
compassionate way. Her medical interests include integrative
medicine, breastfeeding medicine, preventive medicine, maternal/infant
care, and reform of our medical system toward the goal of universal
access. Most of her free time is spent exploring the great outdoors with
her husband, Andrei, and their two boys, Milo and Luca.
