I am a Seattle native, and received both my history and medical degrees from the University of Washington.  I completed residency right here at Swedish Family Medicine in 1996, and worked as a faculty physician at the 45^th Street Community Clinic for the next 12 years. 

My clinical interests include mental health/substance abuse issues and hepatology.  In 2008, I was named Medical Director for the Program for Primary Care Outreach and Community Health at Swedish, which will help Swedish continue as a leader and innovative force in primary care and community/public health issues in the region. 

My wife Joelle is a nurse practitioner; we have 2 young boys, Peter and Thomas, and a very cute black dog named Marica.
