Children's Important Info

Children's requires the following for all individuals; no matter how little time they will spend at Children’s:

  • Computerized Provider Order Entry Web Based Training (CPOE WBT)

  • The WBT must be completed prior to starting any activity at Children’s

  • Failure to update and/or complete the WBT will result in lack of computer access.

  • If residents or fellows manage to gain computer access without updating their WBT, we will disable
their badges and restrict their patient and hospital access.

  • Sign-in with the GME Office

  • Each individual must sign in for each rotation they will be doing at Children’s.

  • If taking call, the individual must sign-in prior to their first call date.

  • If residents or fellows will be training at Children’s for several years, they must sign-in at the
    beginning of each Academic Year.

  • If the resident is an International Medical Graduate, we require a copy of their ECFMG Certificate.

  • Individuals are not allowed to participate in any way prior to signing in with the GME Office.

  • Badge

  • Each individual must sign-in with the GME Office prior to visiting the Transportation Office.  Badge
activation will be authorized by the GME Office.

  • The badge will only be good for the duration of the current rotation (no longer than one Academic
Year) and will be updated each time the individual signs in.

What can you do to help?

  • Let everyone who will be rotating at Children’s know what is expected of them.  They should
receive an email from us regarding training and orientation roughly a month prior to their first day
    here.

  • Please interpret your call schedule for us.  If you have been regularly sending us a call schedule
(Plastic Surgery, Oral Maxil, Otolaryngology, etc.) we need your assistance.

  • Provide the GME Office with a concise list of who will be taking call in your department during the
    upcoming month(s).

  • Since we see upwards of 700 Residents and Fellows a year, we do not have the resources to sift
through every department’s Call Schedule in order to determine who needs to sign in with us.
