Daniel Copp, M.D.
University of Washington
I am
originally from Memphis, TN but have lived all around the country and
Seattle for the past decade (this makes me feel local). I went to
undergraduate at Colorado College then transferred to UW and majored in
Southeast Asian Studies. My study focus was Vietnam and I lived in
Hanoi for over two years after graduating. Then I came back to the US
and did 1.5 years of rather dull premed work I had missed in college
before starting medical school here at the UW.
I’m married to an
Australian woman I met in Vietnam and we now have two small children. They
are wonderful and keep us very busy – it’s hard to now imagine life without
them!
Anyway, in
medicine I’m especially interested in international health, psychiatry,
addiction and the more underserved populations. I would like to go back and
work in Vietnam some day and my wife would like to live in Australia again.
Otherwise, we love living in Seattle!
Much of what we
do for fun now revolves around our kids. I like to run, photograph, take
long walks, watch movies, and read fiction. |
