Director, Advanced Training in Geriatrics

Carroll Haymon was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, and has lived in New Haven, London, Seattle, Cambridge, and Washington, DC.

An English major at Yale with no science background, she was a late convert to the medical profession.  After several painful pre-med classes, she attended medical school at Tufts, and residency at Swedish Family Medicine. She completed the Advanced Training in Geriatrics fellowship at Swedish in 2004, and joined the faculty in 2006.

Dr. Haymon’s professional interests include care of the elderly, particularly end-of-life issues, and behavioral medicine/ mental health.  Her personal ambitions include being a rock star, improving her time in Olympic distance triathlon, cheering LSU football to a national championship, and having lots of friends who laugh at her jokes.  She is the divorced mother of a beautiful, opinionated third-grader named Ming.
