I was born and raised in Illinois before moving to southern California. From there, I headed north for college at University of California, Berkeley, and medical school at University of California, San Francisco. In San Francisco, the challenges of poverty and poor access to medical care were apparent, driving my commitment to caring for the urban underserved. That led to a decision to leave foggy SF for drizzly Seattle to complete residency training at Harborview Medical Center through the University of Washington.  I then worked for a year at a community health center before joining the faculty here at Swedish First Hill in 2009. I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach and to be a part of the inception of our new medical home clinic at Swedish Ballard. My other clinical interests include care of children, obstetrics, and sports medicine.

I am blessed to have an amazing husband and a sweet baby girl along with the occasional dog that we dog-sit. As a family, we love to travel, to eat and cook international foods, and to be outdoors… especially here in beautiful Seattle. I also love to design cards, curl up with a good book, and try new things.
