Dr. Murphy has suggested that each resident use the most current editions of Neurology for the House Officer and Neurology Made Ridiculously Simple as texts for this elective. Chapters on Neurology in the most current Scientific American Medicine is another good resource. There are also resources in the Swedish Online Curriculum.

Professionalism Demonstrate a high degree of professional responsibility in managing patients with Neurology-related problems by referral coordination, direct management and follow up. Demonstrate professional demeanor, attire and appearance in all settings.
A humanistic and compassionate approach to care of the patient with neurologic disease, especially in the case of patients with chronic disorders. Recognition of the importance of family, home, and social support in the overall life of patients with neurologic disease. Recognition of the physician's own level of competence in handling neurologic problems and the need for further consultation as appropriate.
