Driving directions

  1. Snoqualamie Pass Ski Area - Take I-90 East to exit 52.  Go right off the exit and drive about 1/4 mile to the entry to The Pass - Summit West Ski Area.  The Ski Patrol Aid room is on the far left of the main complex of the ski area buildings and is clearly marked.

  2. Mt. Baker Ski area - Mt. Baker Ski Area is at the eastern terminus of Highway 542 ( Mt. Baker Hwy. ).  It is about 3 hours from downtown Seattle .  Head North on I-5 from Seattle to Bellingham .  Just past the center of Bellingham on exit 254 is Mt. Baker Hwy.   Exit the freeway and turn right.  Stay on the winding road for all 54 miles.  Can't miss it.  In mid-winter, chains are advised or traction tires may be needed the last 5-10 miles so be prepared.  If you are working with Mike Tuggy the day you are on duty, you may coordinate with him for a ride up the mountain if your vehicle might have trouble negotiating the road.  Duty time starts at 9AM on Saturday morning.  Physicians report to the Lower Aid Room by the White Salmon Lodge (the first entrance to the Ski Area on the highway around mile marker 50).  The ski area closes at 4 pm and the last sweep off the mountain is usually in by 4:30 pm.

  3. Lodging is available free at the Upper Aid Room adjacent to the Heather Meadows Lodge.  Bring your own sleeping bag and pillows, food, etc.  There is food available at the lodge as well.
