From
its origins as a pioneer program in 1970, Swedish Family Medicine Residency-First
Hill has remained dedicated to the objectives of its training mission. Our goal
is to provide the best educational environment and experience to prepare
residents to be highly skilled family physicians. Throughout their experience at
Swedish, our residents are given extensive learning opportunities in both
inpatient and outpatient medicine, with special attention to preparing them to
practice the full spectrum of family medicine.
We are enthusiastic about the future of Family Medicine and see the need
for family physicians to fill the role as medical leaders in the
communities they serve at both the local and national level. We also
believe that the foundation of the health of our nation and world must
be built on well-trained family physicians serving in the key role as
primary care physicians. Therefore, the scope of Family Medicine will
continue to evolve as the needs of our communities dictate.
The additions of our
Fellowships in Obstetrics and Geriatrics and our four new resident Areas
of Concentration in Psychiatry, Obstetrics, International Medicine and
Wilderness Medicine are clear examples of ways in which we are leading
the way in re-shaping the vision of Family Medicine into the 21st
century. |

hope you will find helpful. If you are a medical student
interested in our program, make sure you check out our Med Student

rotations as well as our residency program. Also, take a look at
our preview
