Barak Gaster MD, joined the faculty of the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1998 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2005. He is interested primarily in the evidence-based study of herbal medicine and acupuncture and has published extensively on the topic.
 
Dr. Gaster also has a busy clinical practice in General Internal Medicine at the University of Washington Medical Center where he spends significant time teaching medical students and residents in both clinic and hospital-based settings. Dr. Gaster served as one of the core faculty members of the University of Washington School of Medicine Complementary and Alternative Medicine project.
