Family Medicine Residency Selection & Career Advising
Writing Effective Letters of Recommendation

Students applying to family practice residency programs are required to have a letter of recommendation from a family physician. These students, as well as some who are applying in other specialties, will most likely request a letter from faculty and site directors from their third year family medicine rotation. You may get many requests, so it's a good plan to keep notes on file. Better yet, write a draft for each student at the end of his/her rotation... you may need it and it will save you time in the long run.
