The Family Medicine Clerkship is a required core clerkship of the University of Washington School of Medicine.

The Clerkship emphasizes three goals:

(1) an ambulatory approach to common problems presenting to family physicians with an emphasis on prevention and screening, continuity, and biopsychosocial issues,

(2) the role of the family physician,

(3) the elements of patient-centered care (PCC) approach to working with patients presenting in a family practice setting.

The Clerkship has teaching sites in Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho (WWAMI).

The Clerkship is available only to UW medical students.
