The Residency Application Process
In our thirty-five years of operation, the University of Washington Affiliated Family Medicine Residency Network has been consistently recognized as one of the largest and most successful in the United States. In 2007, U.S. News & World Report ranked the UW School of Medicine as the best medical school in the U.S. for the specialty of family medicine for the fourteenth year in a row.
Each of the Network residency programs is autonomous with its own unique and distinctive character. As independent units, each program has designed a specific set of prescreening procedures. Thus, the weighing of the various factors in the application process varies from program to program. For further information about individual programs and their selection process click here.
All applications must be submitted electronically using the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). ERAS information can be obtained by contacting your medical school’s dean’s office or through the Internet at http://www.aamc.org
